How We Do It
Magic Bus has a unique Sport for Development (S4D) module, which is inherent in all programmes conducted by us. The programmes essentially rests on the five pillars of Magic Bus – safe environment, 100% participation, fun with responsibility, mentoring and experiential learning – imparting lessons in an engaging way.
Through a series of sequential activities and games designed as metaphors and analogies for specific life situations, and Magic Bus staff and volunteers enable children and youth to understand their issues and challenges and then create solutions that involve the whole community. This is supplemented by activities off the field, especially with the local community, thus, creating conducive environments for all stakeholders so that they can participate and contribute to achieve desired outcomes. Magic Bus programs are conducted every week and last from 5-9 years in each community ensuring we support the development over a long period. But it doesn’t end there. Through Connect, we provide leadership skills to our volunteer coaches, linking them to job opportunities, training courses, skill-building forums and networks that allow them to expand their career options.
Our operations are closely intertwined with the larger perspective of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), softly yet very effectively addressing critical and often-sensitive issues of education, gender, health and environment, leadership, livelihood and sustainability.
We are proud to be contributing in the global development mainstream.
To know more about Magic Bus in action and the five pillars, it would be worthwhile to visit a Magic Bus
