Bollavaram is a village located in Mahanandhi Mandal of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The total population of this village is 3,695 distributed across 790 households. Most inhabitants belong to the Backward Class group of Golla. Telugu is the main language here. Agriculture is the primary source of income for households here. A small proportion of the households does not have their own agricultural land. They earn a living through agricultural labour in lands owned by others.
A primary health centre is located 7km away from this village. The distance to the nearest government hospital is considerable (6km). There are government schools in the vicinity although a government college is at a distance of 6km from this village.
Since Magic Bus began its operations in this village in 2011, one of the recurrent challenges has been the reluctance among parents to send their girls to the sessions. Our efforts have been directed towards involving parents in each of our programmes in the community and building trust. At present, we have 120 children on our programme here.

Sessions are held twice every week on Thursdays from 3.30 to 5.00pm and on Fridays from 3.00 to 4.30pm
