Magic Bus' work in this community is made possible with the support of our donor, Pranav Khanna.
Thank you Pranav!
The community is situated near Mandi Gaon and the Metro Station in South Delhi.
There are 700-800 houses in the community. All these are pukka houses equipped with toilets. It is a legal community and maintained by the Municipal Corporation, which not only collects and disposes garbage, but also provides water.
Most residents work in low-paying jobs such as entry-level government employees, or are self-employed as vegetable vendors.
Magic Bus started sessions in the community in April 2014, and there are 67 children attending sessions out of which 19 are girls. The community frowns upon girls playing outside and this is an issue Magic Bus is hoping to change.
Rituraj Sood is the Training and Monitoring Officer in charge of the community. He is assisted by Youth Mentor Amit Kumar. Community Youth Leaders have been identified from the locality and are currently undergoing training.
A drawing competition was held recently, where 31 children from the community participated.
Magic Bus sessions at Gadaipur are held twice a day from Tuesday to Sunday. The evening session is held from 5pm to 7pm, and the morning session is from 8am to 10am. The session plan is divided into three parts:
