Magic Bus' work in this community is made possible with the support of our donor, Animesh Solanki.
Thank you, Animesh!
Samuel street is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh and is home to 685 persons. Inhabitants are majorly from an Other Backward Classes (OBC) group, Mala. 90 percent of 160 households in this area fall below the poverty line underlining the distressful economic conditions here.
Most of the people at Samuel street are farmers; with a large number of them working as agricultural labourers. Although well-connected to a hospital, school, and college, this community lacks in a safe and secure space for children. Since 2014, when Magic Bus began working in this area, finding an exclusive space for children near the community has been a tough task. Although such a place was identified, it was difficult to conduct sessions due to disturbances by other groups during session timings. Our staff is working towards ensuring such disturbances do not take place in the future and is holding talks with the other groups, who use the ground.
At present, we have 30 children in our programme from Samuel street.
